Ian Laurie is the Social Media Manager of Reaching Our Brothers Everywhere (ROBE), a national nonprofit created in 2011 to address breastfeeding inequities in the African American community and a career perinatal and neonatal nurse professional. Laurie’s interest in Marketing and Sales has led him to several opportunities in varying industries.
Upon graduating from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, he found himself working for companies such as Streamcut Media and Rap Plug. Prior to graduation, Laurie interned with Northwestern Mutual where he operated his own financial planning practice. During his time with the firm, he was recognized by WayUp’s 2018 Intern 100 List for his work with the company that summer. Additionally, Laurie spent his last two years of college working at his former elementary school as an Interim Physical Education Teacher.
In Addition to his work with ROBE, Laurie is a co-founder of Hourglass Management, which is a lifestyle company focused on artist management and event curation. Also, he works as an A&R with an emerging media company called New Order in Atlanta. On the other hand, Laurie was also a student-athlete when attending Oxford College of Emory University. During his freshman year, he contributed to a team that made history when winning their first ever conference title. His character and performance that year inspired the coaching staff to name him as a captain in the next year.
